Architects from Room 1

We were given pictures of houses with foundations only. Our task was to design our own house and use pens to draw the rest of the house. We talked about it first, we went around our street and watched houses that are being built and then came back and drew our own dream house.

Life Caravan - Balanced Diet

We had the Life Caravan this week and our special topic was about 'balanced diet'. It was fun learning about this topic because we learned about food.

We learned that we need to eat:
- Lots of ground food,
- Sometimes of the animal product
- Very little of the sugary food.

Keeping Ourselves Safe (KOS)

On Monday, we had the Police Helicopter landed on our big field at school. It was fun having it at our school.

There were four police officers in the helicopter and they looked so cool with their uniforms on.

Mrs Ripata took us around the helicopter and we took lots of pictures. We have learned that this Police helicopter has a big camera underneath to detect bad people from the sky. It is very big and round.

We were so excited about this and had so much fun. I think I would like to be a police officer in the future.

Making Connections to Life - Maths

We create problems as one way of learning about a new number. NUMBER TALK - we explore a new number by talking about what we know first. At the end we create a problem to show our understanding.
